Medical Treatment Visa

You may be eligible for a Medical Treatment Visa if you are seeking medical treatment for an acute or chronic medical condition or if you are supporting someone needing medical treatment who holds or has applied for this visa.

Eligibility is dependent on a number of different factors including:

o Whether you have a medical treatment plan or medical consultation in Australia

o If you are going to donate an organ to someone or if you are receiving an organ from someone who is accompanying you to Australia

o coming with a patient or organ donor who is applying for this visa

o coming to Australia as a patient under the arrangements between the Western Province of Papua New Guinea and the Queensland Department of Health

o are in Australia, and you are 50 years of age or older, and you have been refused a permanent visa on health grounds only.

As Medical Treatment Visas often involve complex criteria and may involve arranging a medical consultation or having a medical treatment plan in place in Australia, we recommend seeking the advice from a Registered Migration Agent.
